LiveRockUSA Radio Coming to BlogTalkRadio.com

LiveRockUSA is a mariculture business based in Islamorada, Florida. It is a supplier of live rock, dry rock and base rock to aquarist in the United States.

According to Gary Levine, the builder of the Neptune Reef in Miami's Key Biscayne Special Management Zone, there needs to be more live rock from U.S. waters going into aquariums as a replacement for reef material being imported from Fiji, Bali, Tonga, Haiti and other island nations. Live rock from the Florida Keys is equal to, or better than, live rock from other areas, according to more than 100 people who have bought from LiveRockUSA on eBay.

LiveRockUSA's radio show will include information about aquarium equipment, fish and live rock. The show will be hosted and produced by Ken English, the BlogTalkRadioGuy and will be part of the Social Radio Network. The show will begin in July.

For every pound of live rock sold by LiveRockUSA, Gary likes to say, one less pound is ripped from the reefs of the fragile environment of Micronesia and the Caribbean.

Talkin' about LivErockUSA...

This is not about music.

We're talking about saltwater aquariums and the rock people use to create the marine environment.

If you are concerned about ocean issues, ranging from declining coral reefs to shark-finning, you should consider the source of the rock used in an aquarium, because much of the material is being ripped from reefs in Fiji and other exotic destinations. The resulting destruction can not be replaced in our lifetime. Each ton of rock shipped from Fiji, diminishes the quality of life in, and around, the reef.

We're launching our BlogTalkRadio program today. The widget for Rock Talk, aka Rockin' Round the Reef will be posted soon.
